The Greensboro Coliseum Complex, under the management of Oak View Group, is an expansive, multi-building facility serving Greensboro and its surrounding communities. This complex hosts a vast variety of events year-round, including athletic competitions, cultural arts showcases, concerts, theater performances, educational activities, fairs, exhibits, conventions, trade shows, and private gatherings. With nine venues within the complex, including the 22,000-seat First Horizon Coliseum, the 167,000-square-foot Special Events Center, the White Oak Amphitheatre, and other well-regarded facilities, the Greensboro Coliseum Complex plays a crucial role as a central hub for community engagement and economic impact in the region. The Event Manager position at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced professional to contribute to the planning, coordination, and successful execution of a wide range of events. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $55,000 to $70,000 per year, reflecting the significant responsibility and scope of the role. The Event Manager will work closely with event promoters, facility staff, contractors, and vendors to ensure every detail of an event is managed efficiently and effectively. This includes preparing event outlines, coordinating equipment and personnel, managing logistics during event move-ins, the events themselves, and move-outs. The Event Manager acts as the primary on-site liaison with event promoters, making key operational decisions to optimize event flow and patron experience.
In addition to supporting events held at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex, the Event Manager is also responsible for event management at the nearby Steven Tanger Center and amphitheater events. This role includes supervising facility operations during events, overseeing staffing levels, responding to challenges such as security concerns, weather, attendance fluctuations, and ensuring facility compliance with policies and budgets. The Event Manager is tasked with developing detailed operational and financial plans, coordinating with in-house and third-party vendors, assisting tenants in service coordination, and maintaining communication with all involved parties to deliver seamless event execution.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 3-5 years of event management experience
- Knowledge of sports and entertainment venue operations
- Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills
- Knowledge of event management procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure
- High level of professionalism
- Ability to maintain public image and customer service standards.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
- 3-5 years of event management experience
- Knowledge of the functionality of sports and entertainment venues
- Basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of event management procedures
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with facility divisions, vendors/services, and clientele including high-profile promotion agencies
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain an excellent public image for the facility
- Maintains knowledge of current concert tours, conventions, and trade shows including concert production trends
- Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Job Duties
- Serve as primary on-site contact with the promoter for events ranging in gross revenue to potentially in excess of $1M
- Act as primary on-site contact for the planning of the event, the move-in of the event into the facility, the actual event, and the move-out of the event
- Frequently adapt to all internal and external resources to often-changing scenarios
- Supervise facility operations, including outside contractors and facility employees, during the event
- Determine staffing requirements and react to changes brought on by security concerns, fluctuations in attendance, weather, and cancellations/late arrivals
- Assume a high level of financial/budgetary responsibility and make sound financial and operational decisions regarding changes
- Develop detailed operational and financial plans and diagrams for the Published Event Document and distribute to facility personnel
- Oversee division staffing throughout the event and coordinate with resources to meet fluctuating needs
- Coordinate with in-house and third-party security and food vendors to assure patron satisfaction
- Coordinate event preparation with event prep supervisors, crew, and management
- Assist tenants in arranging for supportive services and represent facility management in resolving issues
- Monitor event requirements as interfaced with other events and activities
- Exhibit working knowledge of all event-related and departmental procedures to facilitate coordination
- Prepare and correlate lessee expense information to support financial settlement activity
- Exercise resource stewardship and report irregularities to manager/supervisor
- Perform all assigned and related duties.
