The Greensboro Coliseum Complex, managed under the Oak View Group umbrella, is a versatile, multi-building facility located in Greensboro, North Carolina. It serves as a central hub for the community and surrounding areas, hosting more than 1,100 events annually. These events vary widely from athletic competitions, cultural arts showcases, concerts, theater performances, educational activities, fairs, exhibits, conventions, trade shows, consumer shows, to private and public gatherings. The complex comprises nine unique venues, including the celebrated 22,000-seat First Horizon Coliseum, the expansive 167,000-square-foot Special Events Center, the White Oak Amphitheatre, Piedmont Hall, Novant Health Fieldhouse, Greensboro Aquatic Center, The Terrace, ACC Hall of Champions, and the 3,000-seat Odeon Theatre. These diverse event spaces have established the Greensboro Coliseum Complex as one of the most actively booked and respected venues in the country, known worldwide for its flexibility and top-tier event hosting capabilities.
The Event Manager position at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex is a full-time role offering a competitive salary range of $55,000 to $70,000 annually. This role is a critical member of the venue management team and contributes significantly to the success of a vast array of events hosted at both the Greensboro Complex and the Steven Tanger Center. Responsibilities include supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of assigned events, working closely with event promoters, facility staff, external contractors, and vendors. The Event Manager acts as the primary on-site contact for all aspects of event operations, from pre-event planning and move-in through to event execution and move-out. This involves supervising facility operations, managing staffing levels in response to security conditions, attendance variations, weather, and other dynamic factors.
The role also requires financial oversight of event budgets, preparation of operational and financial plans, coordination with security and food vendors to ensure patron satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and facility policies. The Event Manager must exhibit strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills and maintain professional relationships with high-profile agencies and clients. Flexibility is key, as the position often requires working nights, weekends, and holidays to meet the demands of the various events. This position remains open until July 24, 2026, and the successful candidate will benefit from a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan with matching, and generous paid time off including vacation, sick days, and holidays. Oak View Group is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, fostering an environment where all voices are valued and excellence is realized through collaboration and innovative thinking.
