Job Description
Oak View Group (OVG) is the global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, known for its significant impact across venue development, management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. Since its founding in 2015, OVG has expanded magnificently, serving seven world-class venues including arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions spread across four continents. This progressive company prides itself on delivering unforgettable and high-quality live entertainment experiences on a global scale, pushing the boundaries of innovation and operational excellence within the industry. OVG’s commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and community engagement enhances its reputation as an innovative and ethically responsible employer.
The Greensboro Coliseum Complex, an integral part of the OVG portfolio located in Greensboro, North Carolina, is a premier multi-purpose facility that hosts a wide range of events including concerts, sporting events, conventions, and community gatherings. It plays a crucial role in the local and regional economy by attracting visitors and providing a venue for entertainment and cultural enrichment.
As an Event Coordinator at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex, you will be instrumental in supporting the planning and execution of events at two major venues: First Horizon Coliseum and Steven Tanger Center. This full-time role offers an hourly wage between $22.00 and $25.00 and comes with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with matching, as well as paid time off including vacation, sick days, and designated holidays.
In this position, you will work under the guidance of the Senior Event Manager to ensure that each event runs smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities will encompass coordinating various event-related activities which include collaborating with multiple internal teams such as event managers, venue staff, food and beverage services, and external clients like promoters and show representatives. Your effective communication and organization skills will be critical in preparing detailed event documentation, coordinating staffing and labor plans, and managing logistical details from load-in to load-out. This role necessitates a proactive approach to problem-solving and flexibility in adjusting event plans based on client feedback or operational demands.
Furthermore, your ability to liaise between clients and venue staff will directly impact the success and reputation of events hosted at the complex. You will be responsible for drafting financial estimates and post-event settlements, overseeing event memos, and ensuring timely communication across departments. This position requires a commitment to teamwork, customer service and achieving excellence in every aspect of event coordination. The role’s flexibility in scheduling, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays, reflects the dynamic nature of live event management.
Joining Oak View Group means becoming part of a dedicated team that values diversity and inclusion, which are viewed as drivers of innovation and excellence. OVG’s culture thrives on creating an environment where all employees can contribute uniquely and meaningfully to its mission of delivering world-class live entertainment experiences. This opportunity not only offers a chance to advance your career in event management within a globally recognized organization but also enables you to work in a vibrant, people-oriented setting that celebrates achievement and creativity in entertainment and hospitality.
