Job Description

Oak View Group (OVG) is a global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, specializing in venue development, management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. Founded in 2015, OVG manages a portfolio of seven world-class owned venues and partners with some of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. The company is committed to providing exceptional experiences for patrons, clients, and communities through innovative venue solutions and a customer-focused approach. OVG's dedication to inclusivity and innovation helps it to positively disrupt the sports and live entertainment industry worldwide.

The Greensboro Coliseum Complex, one of the facilities managed under the OVG umbrella, is a versatile and multi-building venue located in Greensboro, North Carolina. It serves as a vital community hub, hosting more than 1,100 events annually including athletic competitions, cultural arts showcases, concerts, theater performances, educational activities, fairs, exhibits, and a broad array of public and private gatherings such as conventions, trade shows, and convocations. The Complex includes nine venues, with the First Horizon Coliseum as its centerpiece — a 22,000-seat arena celebrated for hosting prestigious ACC and NCAA basketball events as well as concerts featuring legendary and contemporary artists. Additional facilities within the Complex include the Special Events Center, White Oak Amphitheatre, Piedmont Hall, Novant Health Fieldhouse, Greensboro Aquatic Center, The Terrace, ACC Hall of Champions, and Odeon Theatre.

The Event Coordinator position at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex is a full-time role paying an hourly wage between $22.00 and $25.00. Reporting to the Senior Event Manager, the Event Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting the planning, coordination, and successful execution of a diverse range of events at venues such as the First Horizon Coliseum and Steven Tanger Center. This role requires adeptness in managing multiple event-related responsibilities essential to the operation of the facility, including collaborating with multiple internal departments, liaison with clients and show representatives, preparing event billing and documentation, and assisting with event staffing planning.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of a dynamic team, ensuring seamless event operations that provide outstanding guest experiences. The Event Coordinator is responsible not only for supporting event execution from planning through post-event load-out, but also for facilitating communication between all involved parties to achieve smooth, well-coordinated events. This person will handle event logistics, financial documentation, staffing recommendations, and interdepartmental cooperation, with an emphasis on detail, responsiveness, and client satisfaction.

In addition to the core event coordination responsibilities, the role demands flexibility in work schedule, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays to accommodate events. The role is designed for candidates with at least one to two years of relevant experience in arenas, sports venues, convention centers, stadiums, or theaters, and a preference for those holding bachelor's degrees in facility management, hospitality management, business, or related fields. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, along with excellent communication, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Oak View Group emphasizes diversity and inclusion as a driver of innovation and excellence, fostering an environment that celebrates diverse backgrounds and perspectives. The Greensboro Coliseum Complex, under OVG management, exemplifies this philosophy by serving as a welcoming venue to diverse communities while maintaining its reputation as a world-class event destination. This role offers comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions, and paid time off encompassing vacation, sick leaves, and holidays.

The Event Coordinator position presents an exciting opportunity for an energetic, detail-oriented individual to advance their career in the live event industry within one of the most active and respected venues in the United States. Candidates who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy fostering positive client and team relationships will find this role both challenging and rewarding.
