The company manages a diverse portfolio that includes seven world-class venues and various iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. OVG offers a comprehensive platform encompassing venue development, management, hospitality services, and sponsorship sales, making it a holistic provider in the live entertainment ecosystem.
The Iowa Events Center, located in Des Moines, Iowa, is one of the prominent venues operated under the Oak View Group umbrella. This venue regularly hosts a wide range of events from concerts and sporting events to conventions and cultural exhibitions. As part of OVG's commitment to providing exceptional experiences to guests and clients, they are hiring a Dishwasher & Catering Steward for their Iowa Events Center location.
This part-time role plays a critical support function within the Food Services and Hospitality team. The Dishwasher & Catering Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across all kitchen equipment, utensils, dishware, glassware, and silverware, ensuring all items are safely and properly cleaned and stored in preparation for events. This position also handles back-of-house areas, making certain these spaces are organized and ready prior to event setups. The role includes pulling and staging catering equipment before events, assisting in the cleaning and reset process afterward, and maintaining inventory control of catering supplies.
The Dishwasher & Catering Steward will operate dish machine equipment, wash items not safe for machines by hand, and place cleaned items in their appropriate storage. Additional duties may include assisting on the food production line, managing waste and compost, sweeping and scrubbing kitchen floors, organizing dock areas, cleaning up spills, and supporting overall kitchen cleanliness and organization. The steward must ensure compliance with all health, sanitation, safety, and employment regulations, aligning with Oak View Group's high standards.
This role requires excellent attendance and flexibility, as the employee must be available to work events as scheduled, including nights and weekends. The hourly pay rate for this position is $19.00, and part-time employees are eligible for benefits such as a 401(k) Savings Plan with company matching. This opportunity is ideal for individuals looking to join a dynamic team in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, contributing to the success of world-class live events.
