The position available is for a Culinary Baker on a part-time basis, located at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center in Tallahassee. The Culinary Baker will play a key role in supporting the catering operations for some of the largest events held at the Civic Center throughout the year. As a Culinary Baker, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and executing baked goods and desserts in a manner that meets elevated standards of presentation and taste. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • two to three plus years of experience in a quality-driven restaurant, hotel, or bakery
  • valid food handling certificate (ServSafe)
  • ability to operate standard kitchen equipment
  • excellent communication skills
  • availability to work evenings and weekends
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • demonstrated reliability and excellent attendance

Job Qualifications

  • Two to three plus years of current or previous work in a quality-driven restaurant, hotel, or bakery
  • someone who brings passion, creativity, and a standard of excellence to their craft
  • able to operate standard kitchen equipment
  • ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner
  • ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • possess a valid food handling certificate (ServSafe) as required by state and federal regulations

Job Duties

  • Participate as a team player with specific responsibilities related to preparation, excellent service, and delivery of products

  • consult with Executive Chef and/or Sous Chef to plan the prep of estimated food consumption
  • show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance
