One of OVG’s key venues is The Bushnell Performing Arts Center located in Hartford, Connecticut. The role of Concessions Bartender at The Bushnell is a part-time position paying an hourly rate between $16.00 and $18.00, plus tips. This position is integral to the Food & Beverage Management team and involves the service of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages during concessions operations. The successful candidate will be personable, professional, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The Concessions Bartender is expected to maintain excellent attendance and availability to work events as scheduled, in alignment with business needs.

The Concessions Bartender must adhere strictly to company standards and legal regulations related to alcohol service, ensure responsible pouring and verify guests’ identification per state and federal laws. The role demands strong customer service skills, the ability to upsell beverages, and a thorough knowledge of various beer, wine, and spirit varieties available. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation, proper cash handling, setup and breakdown of bar equipment, and coordinating with management and security as necessary in challenging guest situations.

This position offers flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and potentially long shifts, requiring a self-motivated individual who can work well both independently and within a team. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Six months or more experience bartending
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights weekends and long hours
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of state and federal alcohol service regulations
Accurate cash handling skills
Ability to handle fast-paced environment and team-oriented work
Bartending certification preferred

Job Duties

Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in guest service interaction with co-workers and uniform standards
Follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described
Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks including state and federal regulations
Responsible for learning or having knowledge of various beer wine varieties and spirits available and being able to suggestively upsell products to guests
Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size
Check the guest's ID in accordance with state and federal regulations to verify the minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages
Communicate a cut-off to a guest as required
Listen and respond to any customer requests or concerns
De-escalate intoxicated guest situations and contact management or security when necessary
Request additional products or restock products as required
Handle cash accurately and issue a bank at their bar
Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation at all times and ensure bar equipment is clean and well maintained
Perform other duties such as set-up and breakdown of bar equipment and organize the cooler as required
