Job Description

Oak View Group is currently seeking a part-time Concessions Bar Back to join the Moody Center team in Austin, TX. This role is pivotal in supporting the bar operations during live events by ensuring that bartenders are well-stocked with necessary products and supplies. The position entails restocking both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, managing keg inventory, maintaining clean and sanitary bar areas, and assisting with operational duties to maintain seamless service delivery. The Bar Back will also play an important role in enforcing alcohol service policies, identifying visibly intoxicated guests, and communicating with bartenders to promote a safe drinking environment.

This part-time role offers an hourly wage ranging from $12.00 to $17.00, with eligibility for tips. Employees in this position are expected to maintain excellent attendance and be available to work during scheduled events as required by business needs. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in bar or concessions environment preferred
  • ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as moving kegs
  • availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends for events
  • compliance with all state and federal regulations
  • excellent attendance record
  • strong work ethic and reliability

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • effective communication skills with employees, co-workers, management, and guests
  • valid food handling certificate if required
  • alcohol service permit if applicable
  • ability to calculate basic math functions related to inventory
  • experience in high volume bar settings preferred

Job Duties

  • Stocking products for the bar including non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages
  • replenishing icing wells
  • sweeping and mopping the bar area
  • moving kegs in and out of keg coolers and tapping kegs
  • running supplies for bartenders including backup fruit, napkins, cups, utensils and stirrers
  • ensuring location equipment is operable and clean prior to events
  • maintaining cleanliness of bar and surrounding areas using sanitation procedures
  • recognizing visibly intoxicated guests and informing bartenders
  • maintaining sanitation, health and safety standards
  • demonstrating excellent attendance and availability for scheduled events
