Job Description
Oak View Group (OVG) is a global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, operating a diverse portfolio of world-class venues and providing end-to-end venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales solutions. Founded in 2015, OVG delivers unmatched experiences across multiple continents through a variety of iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions. The company prides itself on innovation, guest satisfaction, and creating dynamic environments that bring communities together through unforgettable live events. OVG’s mission is to positively disrupt the sports and live entertainment industry by embracing diversity, inclusivity, and excellence in service.
One of OVG’s flagship venues is Polar Park, a modern baseball stadium located in Worcester, Massachusetts. Polar Park is the home to the Worcester Red Sox, the Triple-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. Alongside hosting professional baseball games, the venue serves as a hub for community events, private functions, and special entertainment throughout the year. Known for its energetic atmosphere and strong connection to the local community, Polar Park offers an engaging and fast-paced environment for both guests and employees.
The Concessions Supervisor at Polar Park is a vital part-time leadership role responsible for overseeing all concession stand operations during events. This role is a hands-on leader who ensures that concession stands are properly staffed, stocked, opened, operated efficiently, and closed following best practices. Working closely with management, culinary, and warehouse teams, the supervisor ensures operational needs are met while maintaining a positive experience for both guests and concession employees. This position commands a competitive hourly wage between $22.00 and $24.00 and includes access to beneficial part-time employee perks, such as participation in a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions.
The Concessions Supervisor’s responsibilities encompass supervising cashiers, cooks, bartenders, stand leads, and other concession employees while managing their schedules, uniforms, and readiness for service. Effective communication of event details, promotions, and menu changes during pre-shift meetings is essential. The role demands vigilant monitoring of concession locations to adapt staffing levels in response to business fluctuations, ensuring all stands are clean, stocked, and organized prior to opening. During peak service times, the supervisor supports employees to maintain food quality, portion control, product availability, and service speed, addressing guest concerns promptly and respectfully.
Integral to the role is enforcing proper cash handling procedures and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and responsible alcohol service policies. The supervisor also oversees inventory management to minimize product waste and streamline restocking processes. Reporting any employee concerns, safety hazards, equipment issues, or incidents to higher management is a key duty, alongside supervising closing operations and completing required documentation.
This role necessitates a dynamic individual capable of leading a diverse team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects is also required. Preferred candidates will have 2-3 years of experience in food service, concessions, hospitality, or retail, with prior supervisory or leadership experience being a strong advantage. This position offers the opportunity to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events, contributing to the exciting and vibrant atmosphere of Polar Park. Through this role, candidates become part of a team committed to excellence and inclusivity, enhancing the overall guest and employee experience at one of Worcester’s premier entertainment destinations.
