At Missouri State University, Oak View Group is the principal Food & Beverage partner, overseeing concessions and hospitality operations for premier athletic and entertainment facilities such as Plaster Stadium, Great Southern Bank Arena, Juanita K. Hammons Hall, Hammons Student Center, and the Betty and Bobby Allison Soccer Stadium. This partnership allows OVG to bring its high standard of service and operational expertise to a variety of events held at the university, enhancing the guest experience through efficient and quality food and beverage services.

The Concession Supervisor role is a vital part-time position within this dynamic environment, designed for individuals passionate about customer service, teamwork, and event-driven atmospheres. This role involves overseeing the daily operations of multiple concession stands during events to ensure a seamless service experience for guests. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing concession staff and volunteers, coordinating stand setups, monitoring inventory and cash handling procedures, and enforcing health and safety standards. Additionally, the role requires active participation in staff training and the ability to provide support across different concession areas as needed.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience in food and beverage
  • Valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if applicable
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic math skills for POS and inventory tasks
  • Ability to lift heavy objects
  • Comfortable working outdoors
  • Availability to work flexible hours including event days

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1-2 years experience in a supervisory role in food and beverage
  • Ability to supervise others effectively
  • Strong communication skills with employees, volunteers, management, and guests
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required
  • Proficient in basic math related to cash and inventory
  • Basic knowledge of office software such as Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects

Job Duties

  • Oversee set-up and readiness of concession stands prior to events
  • Assign duties to employees and volunteers to ensure operational efficiency
  • Monitor food production, inventory levels, and cash handling procedures
  • Assist in training new and current staff on procedures and guest service standards
  • Step in to support or backfill positions to maintain service and guest satisfaction
  • Assist with premium services operations and special events
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and harassment-free work environment
  • Supervise alcohol service including ID checks and managing over-service situations
  • Support POS transactions, order processing, and guest interaction
  • Ensure all equipment is operational and sanitation standards are met
  • Enforce company policies and model professional conduct
  • Assist with inventory, training sessions, and other management projects
  • Help move products into designated locations
