The Catering Supervisor role is a part-time position based at Keesler Federal Park (MGM Park) in Biloxi, Mississippi. The position is part of the Food Services & Hospitality group within Oak View Group and offers an hourly wage ranging from $20.00 to $25.00. This role is vital in supporting the overall catering and concession operations during events, ensuring compliance with policies and high standards of quality and guest service. The Catering Supervisor plays a key role in supervising hourly staff, mentoring employees, managing employee relations, and providing technical and operational support during events. This role requires outstanding interpersonal skills, professional presentation, and the ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends. Key responsibilities include monitoring alcohol service compliance, assisting with Point of Sale (POS) systems troubleshooting, managing employee schedules, and maintaining documentation for performance and attendance. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in catering or concessions
- Certification in advanced food service sanitation training
- Familiarity with inventory cost control and menu planning
- Computer proficiency in email, Excel, Word, Outlook, and scheduling software
- Experience with point-of-sale and timekeeping systems
- Strong cash handling and math skills
- Availability to work variable schedules including evenings and weekends
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
- 1-3 years of experience in catering or concessions
- Nationally recognized, advanced food service sanitation training course certification
- Familiar with inventory cost control and menu planning
- Basic computer proficiency including email, Excel, Word, Outlook, Schedule+
- Working knowledge of point-of-sale and timekeeping systems
- Cash handling abilities and basic math skills involving significant number manipulation
- Ability to work a variable work schedule including evenings and weekends
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Job Duties
- Assists in the overall effective management of catering and concessions operations
- Ensures total compliance with all alcohol service policies
- Monitors alcohol service throughout the event to ensure 100 percent compliance with alcohol service policies
- Reports any alcohol service or compliance issues to management immediately
- Provides ongoing direction, supervision, and mentoring to hourly event staff
- Monitors product quality and ensures a high level of guest service
- Assists in troubleshooting technical problems with Point of Sale systems from both a hardware and software perspective
- Assists in vault opening, closing, and balancing as necessary
- Generates event employee schedules and verifies employee time as required
- Assists in ongoing training, development, mentoring, and supervision of hourly employees
- Responsible for completing documentation of employee performance and attendance issues in accordance with company policy and practice
- Assists in managing catered events from set-up to tear-down, including handling communication with hourly staff, culinary staff, and guests
