The role of Catering Server at the Iowa Events Center is a part-time position designed for energetic, attentive, and personable individuals who thrive in fast-paced live event environments. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of server experience in a relevant field
- Ability to understand and follow event-specific instructions
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Must be legally authorized to serve alcoholic beverages according to state and federal laws
- Must maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1+ years of experience as a server in fine dining, large-scale dining facility, or similar field preferred
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to prioritize and execute written tasks in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties
- Meet the company standard for excellence in guest service
- Interact professionally with co-workers and maintain uniform standards
- Read and comprehend Banquet Event Orders to properly set up events with appropriate linens, dishware, glassware, and flatware
- Serve meals to guests or replenish buffet service items
- Serve beverages including alcoholic drinks while checking IDs according to regulations
- Listen and respond to customer requests or concerns
- Refill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiments, and napkins as needed
- Replace tableware and linens during events or room turnover
- Maintain a clear and organized workspace
- Uphold sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
