The Busser position at the University of Kansas Social Club is a crucial part-time role, hourly paid between $10.00 and $12.00, with tip eligibility. This role is designed for individuals passionate about hospitality and delivering a seamless dining experience by supporting the restaurant’s service team. As a Busser, you will work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and bartenders to ensure prompt delivery of food and beverages, maintain cleanliness, and uphold the readiness of the dining area. This position demands attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Bussers are instrumental in enhancing customer satisfaction through consistent support in food delivery, table resetting, and dining area maintenance. Your responsibilities include verifying orders, assisting in both indoor and outdoor dining area upkeep, and collaborating with other team members to facilitate smooth operations. Job Duties

  • collect prepared food items from the kitchen and ensure safe transportation to seating areas
  • verify food delivery matches order details including special requests and dietary restrictions
  • deliver food promptly to customers ensuring freshness
  • assist in picking up drink orders at the bar and delivering them to guests
  • set up tables with clean utensils and condiments before guests arrive
  • clear and reset tables promptly after use ensuring proper arrangement
  • maintain cleanliness and organization in the outdoor dining area by clearing plates, utensils, and waste
  • collaborate with kitchen staff, servers, bartenders to ensure coordinated service
  • regularly check and clean dining tables, chairs, and surrounding areas
  • empty and clean garbage cans during shifts
  • wipe down tables and clean debris around dining areas
  • assist with general cleaning tasks including restocking supplies and cleaning glassware
  • collect recyclable garbage and place in assigned bins
  • maintain adequate supply of disposable plates, containers, and utensils
