Spanning approximately 200,000 square feet, this facility accommodates up to 4,400 patrons and hosts over 140 events annually, attracting more than 300,000 attendees. The arena serves as the home for the USHL Omaha Lancers hockey team as well as the NAL Omaha Beef football team. The Box Office Manager role at Liberty First Credit Union Arena is a crucial full-time, salaried position with an annual pay range of $55,000 to $70,000. This role is responsible for overseeing all facets of ticketing operations, ensuring a seamless and customer-friendly experience for guests purchasing tickets to various events. The Box Office Manager’s duties include managing ticket sales, supervising box office personnel, generating detailed financial and sales reports, and administering ticketing system operations using advanced software platforms such as Paciolan. This position demands a high level of analytical, organizational, and leadership skills to maximize revenue opportunities while maintaining exceptional service standards.
In this role, the Box Office Manager will take charge of building ticketing data for all events, including seating arrangements, pricing structures, pre-sales, discounts, and holds. They will oversee financial reconciliations related to daily, monthly, and event-specific reporting to ensure accuracy and accountability. Acting as the systems administrator, the manager liaises with staff, promoters, presenters, and internal clients to maintain smooth operations and facilitate necessary system upgrades or troubleshooting. Customer service is paramount, with the manager responsible for resolving ticket-related issues, managing Will Call operations, and overseeing complimentary or charity ticketing processes.
Beyond operational responsibilities, the Box Office Manager will manage budget preparation and expenditure control for the box office department, promoting efficient resource allocation. Additionally, they will plan, direct, and evaluate the box office staff by recruiting, training, and motivating employees to perform at their best. Effective communication with both internal teams and external customers is essential for success in this role, along with confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive customer information.
This role requires flexibility in working hours, as the position includes early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended workdays to support the dynamic event schedule. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 3-5 years of increasingly responsible box office/ticketing experience
- Knowledge of stadium, arena, public assembly facility, or convention center sales programs
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Experience with ticketing software
- Knowledge of budget preparation and control
- Strong customer service focus
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business management, sports management, business administration, or other related fields
- Minimum of 3-5 years of increasingly responsible box office/ticketing experience, preferably with a sports facility, convention center, performing arts facility, or other multi-purpose public assembly facility
- Knowledge of operational characteristics, services, and activities of stadium, arena, public assembly facility, or convention center sales programs
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, graphic design, PowerPoint, and Internet software
- Familiarity with Paciolan ticketing software or other ticketing software preferred
- Knowledge of terminology used in box office/sales settings
- Knowledge of principles of budget preparation and control
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Make basic arithmetic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) either manually or through the use of a calculator
- Work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays, extended (long) workdays, and extended number of days
Job Duties
- Build all events in the ticketing system, including seating manifests, price tables, hold/kills, discounts, pre-sales
- Oversee all financial reconciliation in regard to daily reports, monthly reports, and event settlement
- Manage all information being sent and posted through the ticketing system
- Act as systems administrator for the ticketing system (Paciolan) and liaison between staff, promoters, presenters, and the facility
- Responsible for system upgrades, occasional testing of new software, and routine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Prepare all ticketing reports for and work with tenants on system training and related premium ticketing services
- Update and relay all box-office-related event information to each department and client
