The Beverage Supervisor role at OVG’s Mass Mutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, is a part-time position offering an hourly pay rate between $20.00 and $22.00. This role plays a vital part in maintaining seamless beverage service operations during events hosted at the venue. The Beverage Supervisor is charged with overseeing the ordering, storage, and distribution of all beverage products, including alcoholic beverages, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The supervisor works closely with Food & Beverage Managers on various projects such as staff training, inventory management, and supporting special events. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years experience in supervisory capacity in restaurant or catering environment
  • valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by state or federal law
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly
  • availability to work scheduled events and maintain excellent attendance

Job Qualifications

  • 1-2 years experience in a supervisory role within a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment or equivalent education
  • ability to supervise and lead a team effectively
  • excellent communication skills with employees, management, and guests
  • ability to thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • possession of valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by law
  • accurate cash handling skills
  • proficiency in basic math functions related to POS transactions, cash reconciliation, and inventory management

Job Duties

  • Oversee all aspects of beverage ordering with assistance from other Food and Beverage Managers
  • supervise beverage service including alcoholic beverages and verify guest identification to ensure legal compliance
  • assist with maintaining proper inventory levels for beverage orders
  • maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
  • demonstrate excellent attendance and reliability
  • ensure all location equipment is operable and clean before events
  • recognize and take action regarding guests who are visibly intoxicated
  • enforce all Oak View Group policies and procedures
  • assist management with training, inventory, and special events projects
  • perform other duties as assigned by managers and supervisors
