The Railbird Music Festival in Lexington, Kentucky, is currently seeking seasonal part-time bartenders to join their team for the 2026 festival season. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about the food and beverage industry and eager to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The position will commence on May 6, 2026, and conclude on September 6, 2026. Bartenders at the festival will play a crucial role in providing excellent service to guests by preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding alcohol service.
As a bartender for the Railbird Music Festival, individuals will be expected to demonstrate professionalism, attentiveness, and strong interpersonal skills while working collaboratively with team members to maintain a smooth and safe service operation. The role offers an hourly wage of $2.13 plus tips, highlighting the significant earning potential depending on customer interactions and service quality. Seasonal bartenders must maintain regular attendance and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and long hours as demanded by the event schedule.

Bartenders will also handle cash transactions, manage the bar bank, and ensure a clean and sanitary station throughout the shift. The role requires vigilance in checking IDs to verify the legal drinking age and the ability to responsibly refuse service or communicate cut-offs to guests if necessary. In situations involving intoxicated or disruptive guests, bartenders must exercise de-escalation techniques and escalate to management or security when appropriate.

- Six months or more experience bartending
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred
- Bartending school preferred
- Accurate cash handling skills required
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to be self-directed while working in a team-oriented environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and long hours

Job Duties
- Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards
- Follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described
- Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks, including state and federal regulations
- Responsible for learning or having knowledge of various beer, wine varieties and spirits available and being able to learn to suggestively upsell products to guests
- Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size
- Check the guest's ID in accordance with state and federal regulations to verify the minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages
- Communicate a cut-off to a guest as required
- Listening and responding to any customer requests or concerns
- Bartenders are expected to de-escalate intoxicated guest situations and contact management or security as required
- Request additional products or restock products as needed
- Responsible for the issued bank at the bar
- Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation at all times and ensures that bar equipment is clean and well maintained
- Set up and break down bar equipment as required and assist with the organization of the cooler
