The Bartender position at the Worcester Red Sox is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are personable, professional, and excel in a dynamic, fast-paced hospitality setting. As a part-time role, this job invites candidates who can work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and long event hours. The bartender will be responsible for the timely and efficient service of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring compliance with all relevant state and federal laws regarding alcohol service. This role is tip eligible with an hourly wage of $6.75, allowing dedicated employees to significantly enhance their income through excellent customer interactions and upselling skills. Job Requirements

  • Six months or more experience bartending
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Bartending school preferred
  • Accurate cash handling skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to be self-directed while working in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and long hours

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards
  • Follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described
  • Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks, including state and federal regulations pertaining to the distribution of alcohol
  • Responsible for learning or having knowledge of various beer, wine varieties and spirits available and being able to learn to suggestively upsell products to guests
  • Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size
  • Check the guest's ID in accordance with state and federal regulations to verify the minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages
  • Communicate a cut-off to a guest as required
  • Listen and respond to any customer requests or concerns
  • De-escalate intoxicated guest situations and contact management or security as required
  • Contact a management member if unable to resolve or make a decision beyond the scope of standard decision-making
  • Request additional products or restock products as needed
  • Responsible for the issued bank at the bar
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation at all times and ensure that bar equipment is clean and well maintained
  • Other duties may include setting up and breaking down bar equipment and assisting with the organization of the cooler
