Job Description
Oak View Group (OVG) is a global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, operating at the intersection of venue development, venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. Since its founding in 2015, OVG has established a reputation for excellence by owning and managing a collection of seven world-class venues and working with a prestigious roster of iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions around the world. The company’s footprint spans four continents, creating vibrant spaces where unforgettable live experiences come to life. OVG is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse work environment, recognizing that variety in perspectives is essential for innovation and long-term success.
Within this dynamic ecosystem, we are seeking a Part-Time Bartender to join our team at the University of Kansas Social Club in Lawrence, Kansas. This role is essential to delivering an outstanding guest experience at one of OVG’s premier live entertainment venues. As a bartender, you will be responsible for the preparation and service of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a fast-paced, ever-changing event environment. With an hourly wage of $12.00 to $15.00 and tip opportunities, this is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy engaging with people and thrive while working on their feet.
The Bartender role demands a personable and professional individual capable of maintaining excellent attendance while being flexible to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and long hours based on event schedules. This position requires adhering to company standards around guest service excellence, uniform appearance, and responsible alcohol service that complies with state and federal laws. You will take charge of verifying guest identification to ensure compliance with legal drinking ages, responsibly pouring drinks, and handling guest relations sensitively, especially in de-escalating potential intoxication issues.
Bartenders at OVG are expected to constantly learn about our diverse range of beer, wine, and spirits, while also developing suggestive selling skills to enhance the guest experience and boost sales. The role involves day-to-day responsibilities such as managing cash transactions accurately, maintaining a clean and sanitary workspace, restocking supplies, and ensuring the bar equipment is in good working order. You may also assist with setup and teardown duties around bar operations. This position provides a supportive, team-oriented environment where attention to detail and excellent interpersonal communication are highly valued.
OVG’s commitment to diversity and equal opportunity creates a welcoming space for all employees and applicants, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity in building a supportive and innovative team. Our part-time roles come with benefits including a 401(k) savings plan with company matching contributions to support your financial future. This position remains open until October 16, 2026, offering a substantial window for you to apply and join our dynamic team at the University of Kansas Social Club. Join us and contribute to the excitement and energy that define live entertainment experiences at OVG.
