Oak View Group is a global leader in sports and entertainment that designs and manages world-class venues and facilities, focusing on delivering unforgettable experiences for fans and guests. With a commitment to innovation and high standards in hospitality, Oak View Group operates multiple venues and social club locations, including the University of Kansas Social Club in Lawrence, Kansas. This vibrant location serves a diverse clientele, providing an exciting and dynamic environment for both guests and staff. The company culture promotes teamwork, excellence in service, and professional development, making Oak View Group a sought-after employer in the food services and hospitality industry.

The Bartender role at the University of Kansas Social Club is a part-time position offering an hourly wage between $12.00 and $15.00, with eligibility for tips. This role is essential for delivering high-quality beverage service—both alcoholic and non-alcoholic—in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and the ability to adapt quickly during busy events or shifts. Maintaining excellent attendance and flexibility to work events as scheduled is critical, given the event-driven nature of the venue.

As a bartender, the employee will be responsible for serving drinks in compliance with all state and federal laws, including age verification and responsible alcohol service. Knowledge of various beer, wine, and spirits is important to suggestively upsell products to guests, enhancing the overall customer experience. The position requires maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation, managing cash accurately, and handling the bar's issued bank responsibly. Additionally, bartenders are expected to handle guest interactions tactfully, including de-escalating situations involving intoxicated guests and involving management or security when necessary.

This position offers comprehensive part-time benefits, including a 401(k) savings plan and company matching, ensuring employees can save for their future even in a part-time capacity. Oak View Group is committed to creating a supportive work environment where employees feel valued and empowered. The job opening will remain available until October 16, 2026, providing ample opportunity for motivated individuals to join the team at the University of Kansas Social Club.

Working as a bartender in this setting offers the chance to engage with a diverse group of guests while gaining valuable experience in beverage service and hospitality. The role demands excellent communication and multitasking abilities, as well as a proactive approach to maintaining the bar and assisting with set-up and breakdown tasks. For those passionate about the food and beverage industry and seeking flexible part-time work with solid earning potential and benefits, this position presents an ideal opportunity.
