The Bartender role at the University of Kansas Social Club is a part-time position offering an hourly wage between $12.00 and $15.00, with eligibility for tips. Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred
Minimum six months bartending experience
Knowledge of alcoholic beverage laws and responsible service
Ability to check IDs accurately
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Accurate cash handling skills
Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization at the bar

Job Duties

Demonstrate ability to meet company standards for guest service, co-worker interaction, and uniform standards
Follow bar pre-shift notes and bar menus to provide beverage service
Serve alcoholic beverages following state and federal regulations
Learn and suggestively upsell various beers, wines, and spirits to guests
Pour drinks responsibly according to company serving size standards
Verify guest IDs to ensure minimum age requirements are met
Communicate drink cut-offs to guests as necessary
Respond to customer requests and concerns effectively
De-escalate intoxicated guest situations and contact management or security if needed
Request and restock bar products as required
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bar workstation and equipment
Handle cash and manage the issued bank at the bar
Assist with setting up and breaking down bar equipment and cooler organization
Other duties as assigned
