The Ocean Center, located in the heart of Daytona Beach, Florida, is one of the flagship venues within OVG’s portfolio. Known for being an extraordinary meeting, convention, and event complex, the Ocean Center is strategically situated just steps from Daytona Beach’s famous shores, making it a prime destination for attendees and tourists alike. Boasting over 205,000 square feet of versatile meeting and event space, the Ocean Center accommodates events of all sizes, from grand conventions to small, intimate gatherings. Situated near Ocean Walk Village Shoppes with its eclectic shops, colorful restaurants, and a 10-screen theater complex, the Ocean Center offers an unmatched environment combining business, leisure, and entertainment.
At the Ocean Center venue, Oak View Group is currently seeking a talented and personable part-time Bartender to join their hospitality team. This role involves serving all types of beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, while maintaining high professional standards in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. The position has an hourly pay range of $14.00 to $16.00 and is tip eligible, offering additional income opportunities. The role is ideally suited for individuals who thrive under pressure, demonstrate excellent guest service skills, and can work collaboratively within a team-oriented setting.
The Bartender position demands a high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask efficiently while ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations related to alcohol service. Bartenders at the Ocean Center are expected to manage cash transactions accurately, keep their workstations clean and sanitary, assist in restocking supplies, and contribute to an overall memorable guest experience. This position requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability for nights, weekends, and extended hours to align with the venue’s diverse event calendar.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months or more of bartending experience
- ServSafe Alcohol Certificate
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and long hours
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be at least 21 years old

Job Duties
- Demonstrate ability to meet company standards for guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards
- Follow bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described
- Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures including state and federal regulations
- Learn or have knowledge of various beer, wine varieties and spirits and suggestively upsell products to guests
- Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company serving size standards
- Check guest's ID to verify minimum age requirement for alcohol purchase
- Communicate a cut-off to guests as required
- Listen and respond to customer requests or concerns
- De-escalate intoxicated guest situations and contact management or security if necessary
- Contact management if unable to resolve issues beyond standard decision-making
- Request additional product or restock product as required
- Handle cash accurately and be responsible for issued bank
- Maintain clean and sanitary work station and ensure bar equipment is well maintained
- Perform set-up and breakdown of bar equipment and assist with cooler organization
