Job Description
Oak View Group (OVG) is a globally recognized leader in the live entertainment infrastructure and services industry. Established in 2015, OVG excels in venue development, management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales, managing a prestigious portfolio of seven owned venues along with iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. Based in Federal Way, Washington, Oak View Group is committed to delivering premium entertainment experiences that combine innovation with excellence, serving both event attendees and partners with top-tier infrastructure and support.
The Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center is an essential part of OVG's network, providing a dynamic environment for live performances and events. This state-of-the-art facility hosts a variety of concerts, theatrical productions, and community events, requiring a dedicated and resourceful team to ensure smooth operations during high-volume occasions. OVG values collaboration, diversity, and professionalism, creating an inclusive culture where employees are empowered to contribute to the vibrant live entertainment scene.
We are looking to hire a temporary, part-time Barback to support concessions bar operations at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center. This role is seasonal, beginning on June 11, 2026, and concluding on June 23, 2026, with the position remaining open until June 31, 2026. The Barback will work under a structured event schedule and is compensated hourly between $22.50 and $23.50, plus tips, making it an attractive opportunity for individuals seeking engagement within the live events industry for a limited period.
The Barback plays a crucial role in maintaining the operational flow behind the bar by ensuring that all bar products and supplies — including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ice, utensils, and other essentials — are fully stocked and ready ahead of and throughout events. This position works closely with bartenders and the Bar Lead to support efficient service delivery, contributing to a positive guest experience while adhering strictly to company policies and safety standards regarding alcohol service.
In addition to stocking and replenishing supplies, the Barback is responsible for managing inventory accuracy, performing sanitation and cleanliness tasks in and around the bar area, handling keg movement and beverage setup or breakdown, and maintaining a safe, organized workspace. This role requires physical endurance, including the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects, as barbacks operate in environments that can be crowded and loud during live events.
A successful candidate will demonstrate a strong team-oriented mindset, effective communication skills, and the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure. The Barback must be dependable and punctual, committed to excellent attendance during scheduled events. With a valid food handler's certificate and alcohol service permit, this role is suited for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, event-driven settings and seek to contribute to a premier live entertainment venue's success.
Joining Oak View Group means becoming part of a diverse and inclusive team that values innovation, service excellence, and community representation. OVG is proud to be an equal opportunity employer dedicated to fostering a workplace where all employees can thrive. This temporary part-time position offers aspiring hospitality and entertainment professionals a unique chance to gain experience, work alongside industry leaders, and be part of unforgettable live entertainment moments at Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center.
