The Barback position at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center is a temporary, part-time role that provides crucial support to the concessions bar operations during live events. This position is responsible for ensuring that concession stands remain fully stocked and operational by replenishing bar supplies such as alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, ice, cups, utensils, and other necessary items. The Barback works closely with Bartenders and Bar Leads to maintain smooth and efficient bar operations, contributing to a positive guest experience. Job Requirements
- Must possess a valid food handler's certificate
- Must have an alcohol service permit
- Ability to perform basic math functions related to product inventory
- Ability to lift carry and move heavy objects regularly
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays
- Must be available to work scheduled events
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Job Qualifications
- Experience working in a fast-paced high-volume bar or concessions environment preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented fast-paced event-driven environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a positive enthusiastic and cooperative attitude
- Must possess a valid food handler's certificate and alcohol service permit
- Ability to perform basic math functions including addition subtraction multiplication division and percentages related to product inventory
- Ability to lift carry and move heavy objects regularly
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays based on event schedules and business needs
Job Duties
- Stock and replenish all bar products including alcoholic beverages nonalcoholic beverages ice wells cups napkins utensils stirrers fruit and other supplies
- Move kegs in and out of keg coolers tap kegs and assist with beverage setup and breakdown
- Support bartenders and concessions staff by running supplies and maintaining efficient bar operations during events
- Ensure bar equipment is clean operational and properly set up prior to each event
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of bars storage closets and surrounding work areas
- Perform sanitation duties including sweeping mopping floors cleaning and stacking floor mats emptying and relining trash cans and removing debris and clutter
- Follow all sanitation health and safety standards in work areas
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels and report low stock or operational concerns to supervisors
- Demonstrate professionalism and positive communication with employees co-workers management staff and guests
- Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality while working scheduled events
- Work in a high-volume event environment with extended standing lifting supplies and working in crowded or loud live event settings
