The Barback role at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center—a venue under the umbrella of OVG—is a pivotal temporary part-time position designed to support the bar operations during events. - must possess a valid food handler's certificate and alcohol service permit
- ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages related to product inventory
- ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects regularly
- ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules and business needs
Job Duties
- Stock and replenish all bar products including alcoholic beverages, nonalcoholic beverages, ice wells, cups, napkins, utensils, stirrers, fruit, and other supplies
- move kegs in and out of keg coolers, tap kegs, and assist with beverage setup and breakdown
- support bartenders and concessions staff by running supplies and maintaining efficient bar operations during events
- ensure bar equipment is clean, operational, and properly set up prior to each event
- maintain cleanliness and organization of bars, storage closets, and surrounding work areas
- perform sanitation duties including sweeping, mopping floors, cleaning and stacking floor mats, emptying and relining trash cans, and removing debris and clutter
- follow all sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
- assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels and report low stock or operational concerns to supervisors
- demonstrate professionalism and positive communication with employees, co-workers, management staff, and guests
- maintain dependable attendance and punctuality while working scheduled events
- work in a high-volume event environment requiring standing for extended periods, lifting supplies, and working in crowded or loud settings during live events
