Located in Hartford, Connecticut, the Oak View Group is currently hiring a Part-Time Barback to join their robust Food Services & Hospitality team at The Bushnell venue. This position is pivotal in supporting the beverage operations during various events such as conventions, banquets, concerts, sporting events, and other special occasions. The Barback serves as a vital team member who ensures the bar areas are well-stocked, clean, and efficiently managed to maintain continuous and exceptional beverage service throughout each event.

The role of a Barback at Oak View Group involves preparing bars and beverage stations by stocking all necessary supplies including beer, wine, liquor, mixers, garnishes, ice, cups, utensils, and other materials vital for smooth operations. The Barback continuously replenishes the bar inventory during service, ensuring bartenders have what they need to provide prompt and attentive service without interruption. In addition, the Barback is responsible for moving beverage products between storage and service areas, managing kegs and draft beer systems, assisting bartenders with pouring when required, and maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the work environment.

Working at Oak View Group requires flexibility, with shifts available on an on-call basis that might include mornings, afternoons, and evenings, particularly during weekends and holidays. Compensation for this position ranges from $16.00 to $18.00 per hour, and it is tip eligible, offering earning potential beyond the hourly rate. Job Duties

  • Prepare bars and beverage stations by stocking beer, wine, liquor, mixers, non-alcoholic beverages, garnishes, ice, cups, napkins, utensils, stirrers, and other necessary supplies
  • Continuously replenish bar inventory during service to ensure bartenders remain fully stocked and guest service is not interrupted
  • Transport beverage products, supplies, and equipment between storage areas and service locations
  • Move, tap, replace, and disconnect kegs while maintaining draft beer systems
  • Assist bartenders by pouring draft beer and wine when directed to improve service efficiency
  • Refill ice wells and maintain an adequate supply of ice throughout each event
  • Assist with opening and closing bar procedures, including setup, breakdown, restocking, and securing beverage inventory
