The Barback position at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is a critical support role within the beverage team, designed for individuals who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and enjoy contributing to seamless event operations. This part-time role offers an hourly wage ranging from $19.00 to $25.00, reflecting the importance of the position and the expertise required. Barbacks play an essential part in ensuring that the bars and beverage stations are consistently stocked, clean, organized, and fully operational before, during, and after events. By supporting bartenders and beverage supervisors, the Barback helps maintain high service standards that enhance the overall guest experience.
As a Barback, the successful candidate will be responsible for transporting beverage products, replenishing inventory, and assisting with setup and breakdown tasks. This role also requires maintaining cleanliness and adhering to all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety protocols. The Barback is instrumental in supporting the beverage service team during banquets, restaurant services, and special events, contributing to a smooth and efficient operation. Job Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- frequently lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects
- ability to transport cases of beverages, kegs, ice, and other supplies
- ability to bend, stoop, reach, and work in confined spaces
- ability to work in varying temperatures, including coolers and outdoor event environments
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, food and beverage, restaurants, bars, catering, stadiums, arenas, convention centers, or event venues preferred
- ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team
- reliable attendance and punctuality
- flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event-based hours
- must meet minimum age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages as required by state and local laws
Job Duties
- Stock bars and beverage stations with beer, wine, liquor, mixers, garnishes, ice, cups, and supplies before, during, and after events
- replenish inventory throughout events to ensure uninterrupted service
- transport beverage products and supplies from storage areas to bars and service locations
- assist bartenders with opening and closing duties
- maintain cleanliness and organization of bars, coolers, storage rooms, and service areas
- remove trash, cardboard, and empty product containers throughout events
- refill ice bins and ensure adequate ice supply is maintained at all times
