Job Description
Oak View Group (OVG) is a renowned global leader specializing in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services. Established in 2015, OVG offers a comprehensive platform that covers venue development, management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. The company proudly manages and services an impressive portfolio that includes seven world-class owned venues alongside an extensive client base of iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. OVG is committed to delivering unparalleled live entertainment experiences and sustaining operational excellence in the industry.
This job opportunity is with the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, located in Los Angeles, California. The Lucas Museum, known for its unique focus on narrative art in all its forms, is part of the dynamic entertainment and cultural landscape serviced by Oak View Group. The position available is for a part-time Barback, a vital role within the museum's catering and event services team. The role offers an hourly wage ranging from $19.00 to $25.00 and emphasizes flexibility, with a work schedule that includes evenings, weekends, holidays, and event-specific hours. This position remains open for applications until September 25, 2026.
The Barback position plays an essential support function in the beverage team, ensuring all bar and beverage stations remain fully stocked, clean, organized, and operate seamlessly during events hosted at the museum. The individual in this role will assist bartenders and beverage supervisors with inventory management, setup, breakdown, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Responsibilities extend across various types of occasions including banquets, restaurant operations, and special events. This position is highly collaborative, demanding strong teamwork skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The Barback helps elevate the guest experience by supporting smooth beverage service operations, contributing to the museum’s reputation for excellence in event hospitality.
Beyond operational tasks, the role also involves following strict food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The Barback will be responsible for inventory counts and product accountability, making accurate and efficient replenishment essential to the uninterrupted delivery of service. Physical demands of the job include the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, frequently lift and transport heavy objects such as beverage cases and kegs, and perform duties in varying environmental conditions, including coolers and outdoor event spaces. This makes the role well-suited for individuals who are physically fit and capable of managing the rigorous aspects of beverage service in a large venue setting.
Working at Oak View Group means joining a diverse and inclusive team dedicated to innovation and excellence. OVG values its employees and fosters an inclusive environment that respects and celebrates the diversity of community members it serves. The company is an equal opportunity employer committed to fair employment practices without discrimination based on legally protected characteristics. Part-time employees benefit from offerings such as a 401(k) savings plan with a matching component, underscoring OVG’s commitment to employee well-being and financial security.
In summary, the Barback position at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art under Oak View Group is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in hospitality and event services. It combines the excitement of working within a prestigious cultural institution with the dynamic environment of live entertainment and event hospitality. This role not only supports the seamless execution of beverage operations but also offers a chance to be part of a global leader dedicated to elevating guest experiences through carefully crafted service and operational excellence.
