The Banquet Server position at the Steven Tanger Center plays a vital role in elevating guest experiences during various events hosted at the venue. This part-time role offers an hourly wage of $17.00 to $19.00, plus tips, and includes part-time benefits such as a 401(k) savings plan with company matching. Banquet Servers are essential in providing professional and courteous food and beverage service, ensuring that guests receive attentive and high-quality hospitality.

The role involves preparing banquet spaces by setting up food and beverage stations consistently with service standards and maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the event. Serving guests during events, Banquet Servers must exhibit fine dining service skills and a proactive approach to guest needs. This includes reading and understanding banquet event orders to ensure service is aligned with the expectations of each unique event.

Banquet Servers at the Steven Tanger Center work closely with both kitchen and event staff to coordinate timely delivery of food and beverages. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent GED
  • minimum of one year work experience in events, banquets, or restaurants preferred
  • ability to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects often
  • able to carry at least 8 entrees per tray
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and select holidays
  • knowledge of basic arithmetic
  • punctual with consistent attendance
  • able to respond to simple complaints or inquiries from customers

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent GED strongly preferred
  • minimum of one year of work experience in events, banquets, or restaurants preferred
  • ability to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects often, including the capability to carry at least 8 entrees per tray
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and select holidays
  • knowledge of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • punctuality and consistent attendance
  • ability to respond to simple complaints or inquiries from customers

Job Duties

  • read and understand banquet event orders
  • provide fine-dining-level food and beverage service to guests for all events
  • initiate and maintain friendly and professional contact with guests, ensuring that all needs are anticipated and met
  • setup and maintain both food and beverage stations consistent with standards of service
  • maintain an inventory for both food and beverage stations
  • maintain all event and front-of-house staging areas in a tidy and organized manner
  • participate in both setup and cleanup of food and beverage service items
