The Utah Valley Convention Center, located in Provo, Utah, is one of the key venues managed by OVG's Food Services & Hospitality group. Known for its excellent reputation in event hosting, the Utah Valley Convention Center offers versatile spaces equipped with modern amenities designed to accommodate various event types, including weddings, social gatherings, corporate meetings, and large banquets. With an unwavering commitment to quality, efficiency, and guest satisfaction, the venue continuously strives to offer memorable experiences to its guests and clients through expert food and beverage services and world-class event execution.
The Banquet Manager role at Oak View Group’s Utah Valley Convention Center is a full-time, leadership position responsible for overseeing all banquet and catering operations to ensure the delivery of exemplary service and seamless event execution. This role carries the rewarding challenge of managing a diverse team, coordinating logistics, and maintaining compliance with all policies and regulations while working collaboratively with culinary, events, and sales teams. With an annual salary range of $55,000 to $65,000, the position offers both competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with matching, and paid time off including vacation, sick days, and holidays.
The Banquet Manager’s responsibilities are broad and impactful, encompassing oversight of all stages of banquet service—from event planning, staff scheduling and training, quality control, through to event breakdown and reporting. This hands-on leadership role ensures that every aspect of the banquet and catering operations runs smoothly and aligns with organizational goals of quality, profitability, compliance, and customer satisfaction. A key part of the role involves maintaining strict adherence to alcohol service regulations and food safety standards while expertly managing inventory, budgeting, and cost controls. Moreover, the Banquet Manager plays a crucial role in employee development, mentoring banquet staff to maximize performance and foster a positive, productive work environment.
The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in hospitality or food and beverage management, with specific experience in banquet and catering operations. Strong organizational abilities, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with point of sale systems and inventory management are essential to succeed. Flexibility in work hours is important due to the nature of events, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. If you are a motivated leader passionate about delivering exceptional hospitality experiences and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, this exciting opportunity with Oak View Group at Utah Valley Convention Center could be the perfect next step in your career.
