OVG's management of the Wichita Wind Surge combines sophisticated operations management with a strong emphasis on guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

The Assistant General Manager role is a pivotal position within the Wichita Wind Surge team, tasked with supporting the General Manager to ensure the efficient and profitable operation of the venue. This position is full-time, offering an annual salary range between $65,000 and $85,000. The Assistant General Manager plays a critical role overseeing an array of functions, including managerial duties, supervision of full-time and part-time employees, and maintaining full compliance with state and federal labor laws, food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and alcohol service laws. As a leadership position, it demands an individual who can coach, counsel, train, and mentor staff at all levels, promoting a positive and cooperative work culture.

This role involves dynamic and flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the variable event-driven environment characteristic of the sports and live entertainment industry. The successful candidate will manage labor allocation and scheduling, maintain relationships with vendors and clients, and partner closely with the General Manager to align staffing needs with event demands and sales data. This role is essential for maintaining operational standards, financial health, and delivering excellent guest experiences at the venue.
