Guest Services, Inc. is a renowned hospitality management company founded in 1917, recognized as the premier National Park Service concessionaire in the United States. With over a century of experience, Guest Services has built a reputation for excellence by delivering best-in-class services across a diverse portfolio of client sites. These include luxury communities, hotels, resorts, government and business dining facilities, full-service restaurants, state and national parks, outdoor recreation venues, boathouses, marinas, museums, conference centers, senior living communities, health care systems, as well as school and university dining facilities and specialty retail stores. The company values diversity, equity, and inclusion, striving to foster an inclusive workplace that allows employees to bring their whole selves to work and provide exemplary service to a wide array of customers.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Attendant to join our team. This role is pivotal to the smooth daily operations of our café services and requires an individual capable of multitasking and delivering exceptional customer service. The Cafe Attendant position is an hourly role compensated at $17.95 per hour. It involves a variety of tasks including customer service, inventory management, sales, cash handling, sales reconciliation, and line service. The selected candidate will be cross-trained to perform duties related to cashiering, cooking, line serving, and general utility work, ensuring flexibility and comprehensive support across the café operations.
As a Cafe Attendant, you will be responsible for interacting directly with customers, handling their orders, preparing food items requiring short preparation times such as sandwiches, carving meats, making soups or salads, baking breads or desserts, and brewing coffee or tea. You will also play a key role in setting up, restocking, and breaking down food preparation equipment, work areas, and counters or tables to maintain a clean, organized environment. Handling cash transactions accurately and maintaining the cash station’s cleanliness and inventory of supplies are also essential components of this position.
This role demands physical stamina as you will be required to stand for the entire workday, regularly move about within the work unit, lift or carry weights up to 50 pounds occasionally, and work in varying temperature conditions including freezer, refrigeration, and cooking areas. Good communication skills, the ability to understand and interpret menus and recipes, and adherence to sanitation standards are crucial for success. The position requires a dynamic team player who is willing to be cross-trained in multiple roles to assist wherever needed under the guidance of the Shift Supervisor or Manager.
Joining Guest Services means becoming part of a company that values its employees and customers alike, emphasizing professionalism, inclusiveness, and high-quality service in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop a broad skill set in hospitality operations within a supportive and well-established organization committed to diversity and equal opportunity employment.
