Job Description
Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is a leading provider of enabling technologies serving industrial growth markets that demand advanced technology and high reliability. The company specializes in diverse sectors including aerospace and defense, factory automation, environmental monitoring of air and water quality, electronics design and development, oceanographic research, deepwater oil and gas exploration and production, medical imaging, and pharmaceutical research. With a commitment to innovation and high ethical standards, Teledyne strives to deliver cutting-edge sensing solutions while upholding integrity and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The company fosters a collaborative and mission-driven work environment, catering to individuals who are passionate about making an impact and being part of a winning team.
Teledyne is currently seeking an Assembler for its Miamisburg, OH location, offering a competitive schedule of four 10-hour shifts from Monday to Thursday on the third shift (7pm-5:30am). Qualified individuals are eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus. This role involves assembling electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems according to detailed instructions and under close supervision. The assembler will engage in intermediate assembly tasks including soldering, potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, laser welding, and operation of pneumatic machinery. The position requires mounting components such as resistors, capacitors, and integrated circuits, connecting wires, adjusting and trimming materials to meet specified electrical and dimensional characteristics, as well as performing inline testing and inspections to ensure production standards are met.
The role requires the use of schematics and blueprints and may involve assembly operations under magnification devices like microscopes. The position also demands the ability to perform various repair and rework operations using approved procedures and requires cross-training on various programs within the facility. Candidates must be prepared for intermittent overtime, typically on Fridays. This full-time position emphasizes not only assembly skills but also communication, computer proficiency, and adherence to safety and quality protocols. The position requires U.S. citizenship due to Department of Energy regulations and the ability to potentially obtain an ATF Possessor Permit and IPC/J-STD Certification.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates with at least a high school diploma, some industrial experience, and a solid grasp of assembly operations such as wiring, welding, bonding, and soldering. Familiarity with quality management standards like ISO 9001 or AS9100 is advantageous. The role is physically demanding, requiring prolonged periods of sitting or standing, mild lifting, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
Teledyne offers competitive pay, comprehensive health benefits, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, flexible work arrangements, and extensive professional development opportunities. The company values diversity and ensures equal employment opportunities for all qualified applicants. Teledyne encourages candidates who thrive in a progressive, ethically driven, and technologically advanced environment to apply online and join a team dedicated to shaping the future through innovative technology solutions.
