The available position is a Part-Time Third Cook (PRN), to be scheduled as needed, with rotating shifts that require flexibility, including working every other weekend. This role sits within the dietary department, reporting directly to the Director of Food and Nutritional Services. The Third Cook position at St. Mary Medical Center plays a vital role in the Food and Nutrition team, providing essential support in meal preparation and delivery within the hospital setting. The successful candidate will be tasked with preparing and cooking meals for patients, adhering to pre-planned menus that accommodate regular dietary needs and special dietary restrictions. The role demands a detail-oriented team member who can efficiently prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including items such as salads, sandwiches, and desserts, in accordance with daily menu and production sheets.
This hospital chef position requires the cook to maintain strict adherence to food service regulations, wearing clean uniforms, gloves, and hats or hairnets while handling food and related equipment to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met. Additionally, the Third Cook will assist with dish room duties, following appropriate ware washing procedures to support the kitchen's cleanliness and functional operation. Job Requirements

- Minimum one year experience
- Ability to work rotating shifts and every other weekend
- Ability to follow food safety and hygiene regulations
- Flexibility to work as needed on a PRN schedule

Job Duties
- Work in the hospital kitchen to prepare and cook meals for patients
- Plan daily menus including options for special dietary restrictions
- Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner for admitted patients
- Prepare food according to daily menu and production sheets including salads, sandwiches, and desserts
- Assist in dish room and follow proper ware washing procedures
- Adhere to food service handlers' regulations by wearing clean uniforms, gloves and hat/hairnets while working with food and food equipment
