Sonesta International Hotels is recognized as the 8th largest hotel company in the United States, experiencing rapid growth and expanding its reach across major cities. This diverse portfolio includes an impressive mix of full-service and focused hotels, spanning over 1000 properties in eight countries and counting. Sonesta operates a unique blend of owned, managed, and franchised properties, establishing a presence everywhere travelers want to be. The company is dedicated to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences by emphasizing the human side of service. Their core philosophy centers on providing service with passion, loyalty with purpose, and offering experiences that deeply connect with every guest during every stay. The company culture at Sonesta is encapsulated in their motto "Together We Thrive," reflecting their commitment to quality, value, and amazing hospitality.

The role of Room Attendant (RA) at Sonesta is integral to sustaining the company’s standard of excellence in guest satisfaction. The Room Attendant works closely with the Housekeeping Management Team to maintain the cleanliness and order of guest rooms and public spaces, or alternatively serve within the commercial laundry facility as needed. This position demands adherence to Sonesta’s rigorous brand time, product, and placement standards to uphold a superior guest experience. Key responsibilities include cleaning and servicing assigned areas by making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, handling trash removal, and potentially attending to kitchen areas and in-room appliances such as refrigerators, microwaves, and coffee makers.

Beyond cleaning duties, the Room Attendant is responsible for monitoring supplies and laundry equipment, operating washers and dryers according to hotel and manufacturer guidelines, inspecting linens for damage or stains, and meticulously folding and storing clean linens. This role also requires maintaining resource efficiency by minimizing waste of housekeeping supplies and amenities, and supporting deep cleaning projects as assigned. Workplace safety and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local health and safety regulations are paramount. The Room Attendant must be a proactive communicator, collaborating with other shifts and department management to foster a team environment and ensure seamless quality service delivery.

Sonesta International Hotels offers an hourly wage of $26.60 for this position, in accordance with contract requirements. The job demands physical stamina, including frequent standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility, along with the ability to carry, lift, or pull items weighing up to 75 pounds. The work schedule includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, emphasizing the need for flexibility and dedication. Ideal candidates possess some prior housekeeping experience, preferably within the extended stay industry, and fluency or proficiency in English is preferred, with additional languages considered beneficial. Basic reading, writing, and math skills are important, alongside the capacity to handle commercial cleaning products safely.

Sonesta prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer, committed to fostering a diverse workforce without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or other protected characteristics. Interested applicants must complete a full application in addition to submitting a resume to be considered.
