Job Description
Rocket Farm Restaurants is a renowned hospitality group known for its commitment to creating a culture centered on respect, dignity, and care among its team members. The company's core philosophy, "We serve the person who is serving the guest," reflects its dedication to fostering a supportive, ethical, and collaborative work environment. This approach starts behind the scenes in the kitchen and extends to the guest experience in the dining room, ensuring a consistent level of care and excellence throughout every aspect of the restaurant operations. Rocket Farm Restaurants operates multiple locations across various cities, including Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville, Houston, Raleigh, and Winter Park, highlighting its growing footprint and reputation in the restaurant industry. The Optimist, one of the distinct restaurants under Rocket Farm's umbrella, is located in Nashville's Germantown neighborhood and focuses on offering casual, wood-fired cuisine with an emphasis on fresh, sustainably sourced seafood, delivering an exceptional coastal dining experience to landlocked Tennesseans.\n\nThe role of Executive Sous Chef at The Optimist is a pivotal leadership position within the kitchen, responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, including production, preparation, private parties, special events, stewarding, purchasing, and receiving. The position demands a seasoned culinary professional with a minimum of five years of progressive culinary experience, including at least two years in a Sous Chef role. The Executive Sous Chef will not only ensure that menu items meet the highest standards of quality and presentation but will also manage kitchen staff, maintain culinary consistency, and uphold operational excellence in the absence of the Executive Chef. This role requires someone who can lead a cohesive team effectively, manage culinary budgets, monitor labor costs, scheduling, and overtime aggressively, and who thrives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. The employment type is full-time, with a competitive salary range from $65,000 to $80,000 annually, dependent on experience, plus a generous quarterly bonus program. Candidates can anticipate full benefits eligibility after 30 days, including major medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Rocket Farm Restaurants also provide a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employee well-being and work-life balance, such as paid time off, parental leave, significant long-term retention bonuses, family time on major holidays, and more. Employees enjoy a 50% discount across all Rocket Farm locations and have access to Rocket Farm University, which offers specialized leadership classes and personalized career advancement support. This employer values a dynamic, innovative, and heartfelt team environment and is an equal opportunity employer, committed to fair and equitable hiring practices and providing a workplace where all employees can thrive.
