The Busser position at The Oak is an integral role that supports the seamless operation of the restaurant by ensuring the dining area runs smoothly and guests receive attentive, professional service from the moment they enter. This role involves a variety of duties from greeting tables to setup and breakdown responsibilities. The Busser is vital in enhancing the overall guest experience through attentiveness, awareness, and proactive service. They are expected to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation, in line with the Ojai Valley Inn's (OVI) renowned standards and philosophy. This includes initial guest greeting, water presentation, bread service, table clearing and resetting, refreshing drinks promptly, and setup and breakdown of restaurant areas.

This role demands a calm and poised demeanor even in fast-paced environments, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a positive, outgoing personality to engage with guests and team members effectively. The Busser contributes to creating a welcoming atmosphere by anticipating guest needs and acting to improve their experience, embodying the resort's mission of exceeding guest expectations. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of food and beverage experience in an upscale setting and a thorough understanding of OVI standards of presentation, body language, and verbiage.
