The position available is for a skilled Line Cook who will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of the hotel's kitchen. This job offers an hourly pay rate of $22.00 USD and involves working varied schedules that include nights, weekends, and holidays. The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing all menu items strictly following the established recipes and yield guides, ensuring consistency and quality in each dish served. Collaboration is a key element of this role, requiring coordination with the Sous Chef or Station Cook I to discuss assignments, business forecasts, and other important operational details. The Line Cook will be actively engaged in initiating prep work required for the day’s menu and assist throughout the shift to maintain seamless kitchen operations.

A significant part of this role involves setting up and breaking down the workstation, including handling all necessary mise en place, tools, and supplies. The Line Cook must maintain proper food storage procedures as per Health Department regulations and hotel standards to guarantee food safety. This role demands a high level of food handling knowledge and sanitation practices, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines. Job Requirements

  • 3 years' experience as a line cook at a hotel/resort or restaurant
  • Ability to work all stations on the line
  • Food handling certification required
  • High work ethic and self-initiative
  • May be required to work varying schedules to include nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, reach and carry items during the shift
  • Ability to lift and/or move 10-25 pounds as needed
  • Visual ability to read from computer screen and printed materials
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Job Duties

  • Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides
  • Meet with Sous Chef/Station Cook I to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes and other information pertinent to the job performance
  • Start prep work on items needed for the particular menu of the day and assist Line Cooks on same throughout the shift
  • Set up work station with required mis en place, tools, equipment and supplies
  • Breakdown work stations and complete closing duties at the end of last shift of the day
  • Maintain proper storage procedures as specified by Health Department and hotel requirements
  • Follow food handling guidelines
