Job Requirements

  • High work ethic and self-initiative
  • Ability to work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer for 6-8 hours a day
  • Ability to stand and walk occasionally during the workday
  • Frequent use of fine motor skills for keyboarding, typing, and operating office equipment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to occasionally bend, reach, or carry items
  • Ability to lift and/or move 10-25 pounds as needed
  • Visual ability to read computer screens and printed materials for extended periods
  • Ability to participate in conversations and meetings using phone or headset
  • Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a front office or customer service role preferred
  • Proficient in using computer systems and office equipment
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Knowledge of reservation and hotel management software
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Team player with a positive attitude

Job Duties

  • Greet and communicate cordially with guests, promptly and professionally checking them in and out of the hotel
  • Assist in pre-registration and blocking of reservations when necessary
  • Promptly, accurately and efficiently know how and where to post all charges
  • Have complete working knowledge of Front Office computer or manual system, including all daily transactions and those which are not performed often
  • Accurately manage cash handling, including receiving cash, checks and credit card information from guests for payment of hotel charges and making change correctly
  • Review any reservations with special requests and work to block rooms accordingly
  • Have knowledge of hotel rates, discounts and how to handle each
  • Have working knowledge of reservations and procedures, including how to take same day reservations
  • Should be able to take reservations in approximately 2 minutes
  • Know and follow cancellation procedures and relocation procedures when necessary
  • Pay rate: $18.00 hourly (USD)
