Job Description
The Renaissance Charleston Historic District Hotel is a prestigious hospitality establishment nestled in the vibrant heart of historic downtown Charleston. Known for its elegant accommodations and top-tier amenities, the hotel offers guests a luxurious experience with features such as elegantly furnished rooms with marble bathrooms, 32-inch flat-screen TVs with cable and satellite channels, mini-bars, tea and coffee making facilities, as well as attentive room service and concierge support. The property boasts 2,759 square feet of meeting and event space, making it an ideal venue for various gatherings, from intimate meetings to grand celebrations. Situated just three blocks from the iconic City Market and famous King Street shops, the Renaissance Charleston Historic District Hotel perfectly blends Southern charm with modern convenience and sophistication, attracting both leisure and business travelers alike.
We are currently seeking an experienced Banquet Manager to join our dynamic team at the Renaissance Charleston Historic District Hotel. This overtime-eligible managerial position is pivotal to delivering flawless banquet events, ensuring guests enjoy memorable and seamless experiences. As the Banquet Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the Banquet Department, coordinating all aspects of event execution from planning to the final cleanup. In times of low banquet business levels, you will support the food and beverage team to maintain excellent service standards. This role requires a proactive leader who excels at balancing cost control with outstanding guest services, effectively managing staff, and maintaining high operational standards.
The ideal candidate will act as the hospitality hero, embracing every guest and teammate with a service-first mentality. You will be responsible for hiring, training, guiding, and motivating your team to achieve excellence, creating an environment that encourages growth and teamwork. You will maintain compliance with all safety regulations and corporate standards established by Aimbridge Hospitality, including up-to-date certifications in food handling, alcohol awareness, CPR, and first aid. Additionally, your strong communication skills and ability to handle financial data efficiently will be essential to the success of your role. If you have supervisory experience in a hotel or related hospitality environment, thrive under pressure, and have a passion for orchestrating outstanding events, we invite you to apply and become an integral part of our team.
