Job Description
Our client is a renowned hotel known for its commitment to exceptional guest experiences and high standards of operational excellence. This establishment prides itself on maintaining elegant facilities and delivering top-quality services that ensure guest satisfaction and comfort. As a prominent player in the hospitality industry, the hotel emphasizes teamwork, safety, and proactive maintenance to create a welcoming environment for both guests and employees. The company fosters a culture of continuous improvement and encourages its staff to develop professionally while contributing to the hotel's success. The hotel operates under best practices for facility management and guest services, making it a preferred destination for travelers and a fantastic place to grow a career in hospitality management.
We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Hotel Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the hotel’s physical infrastructure remains in excellent working order and meets all operational standards. As the Hotel Engineer, you will oversee maintenance operations across all hotel departments, focusing on preventive maintenance programs for guestrooms and public areas. You will conduct regular walk-throughs to assess the functionality and safety of hotel structures, systems, and equipment, providing timely and effective solutions to maintenance concerns.
In this key leadership position, you will collaborate closely with various hotel management teams and report directly to the Property General Manager. You will be responsible for hiring, training, supervising, coaching, and counseling engineering staff, including managers, ensuring that the team performs efficiently and cohesively. Managing the engineering department budget, inventory, and supply ordering will also be part of your duties to maintain operational excellence and cost control.
Additional responsibilities include ensuring the hotel grounds are well maintained to provide a positive first impression for guests and implementing the hotel's safety and emergency policies. This involves adhering to strict safety protocols such as OSHA Hazcom programs, safe lifting techniques, and managing evacuation processes. Your commitment to safety and operational integrity will directly impact the guest experience and the overall success of the property.
This full-time position requires flexibility to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the nature of hotel operations. Ideal candidates should bring proven hotel engineering experience, including proficiency with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen maintenance, and general building construction. Vocational training, associate degrees, certifications, or apprenticeships related to engineering or maintenance are essential, alongside any state certifications or licenses required. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial for effective collaboration and reporting.
The role also involves physical requirements typical of an office environment, such as prolonged computer use and occasional physical activity related to the duties described. Reasonable accommodations will be available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Joining this hotel as a Hotel Engineer offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a respected property's operations while advancing your career in a supportive and professional setting. If you appreciate working in a team-focused culture that is committed to safety, quality, and guest satisfaction, this role is an excellent match.
