Job Description
AHC Hospitality is a leading company in the hospitality industry, managing a diverse array of hotels, restaurants, and resorts that span from casually comfortable to lavishly appointed properties. The company operates several esteemed hotel brands including the Amway Grand Plaza, JW Marriott Grand Rapids, AC Hotel by Marriott, and Courtyard by Marriott Downtown. AHC Hospitality is recognized for delivering exceptional guest experiences by cultivating environments where guests feel welcomed and valued at every touchpoint. The company emphasizes growth opportunities for its team members and prides itself on fostering a culture where employee success is intrinsically linked to company success. As part of the team, associates find themselves in a dynamic and supportive workplace where individual talents and professional development are nurtured while contributing to a larger goal of unparalleled guest service and hospitality excellence.
This particular role is a part-time position tailored for individuals who are available to work weekends. The position offers valuable benefits including discounted downtown parking, free employee meals, DailyPay financial access, and discounts for both hotel stays and dining experiences. As a team member of AHC Hospitality in this restaurant role, you will play an integral part in ensuring the smooth daily operation of the restaurant within the prestigious Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. Your responsibilities will encompass a broad range of service functions including counter service, delivering food, table service, and processing to-go orders. The role requires vigilant attention to maintaining cleanliness and order both in public areas and behind the scenes, adhering strictly to health department regulations and internal checklists. Employees are expected to learn menu ingredients comprehensively, be knowledgeable about specials such as happy hour offers, and remain informed on local area events to enhance guest interactions and recommendations.
The position fosters a spirit of teamwork and encourages associates to contribute to a shared goal of surpassing guest satisfaction through responsive and quality service. Handling guest concerns independently, managing time efficiently, and identifying opportunities to control waste and increase revenue through upselling are key aspects of this role. Employees must also follow all AHC safety and green policies, maintain proper certification such as TiPS when applicable, and actively participate in training to ensure compliance with alcohol service laws. Professional appearance, punctuality, and a positive, courteous attitude are essential qualities for success in this position, as is the ability to communicate effectively with both management and peers. This role is not only about serving food and drinks but also about creating memorable experiences that reflect the high standards of AHC Hospitality.
