In this role, the Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting guests upon arrival, seating them efficiently and comfortably, and ensuring any special requests or accommodations are met with care and attention. Beyond just seating guests, the Host/Hostess serves as a key communicator between the front-of-house team and kitchen staff, helping maintain smooth operations and ensuring guest satisfaction at every step. Flexibility, empathy, and problem-solving skills are essential, as the Host/Hostess will handle guest inquiries, resolve issues, and help create memorable dining experiences.

Candidates must be adaptable and willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required in the hospitality industry. Physical stamina is necessary since the role may involve extended periods of standing, walking, and occasional lifting or bending. Additionally, the position requires compliance with Aramark's safety policies, including food safety and sanitation protocols, and the successful candidate must obtain food safety certification.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in customer service or food service preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to obtain food safety certification
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting and bending
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and PPE
  • Must be dependable and punctual

Job Qualifications

  • Previous host/hostess or food service experience preferred
  • Demonstrates excellent guest service skills
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Has a flexible schedule to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Enjoys working in a lively environment
  • Must be able to obtain food safety certification
  • Able to perform duties that may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing
  • Must be comfortable wearing uniforms and/or using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Job Duties

  • Greets guests as they arrive and seats them accordingly ensuring the optimum use of tables
  • Ensures any special needs or requests for diners are accommodated and arranged
  • Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of the front-of-house environment
  • Escalates any guest needs or concerns as necessary
  • Works closely with the kitchen staff and servers optimizing communication to ensure efficient operations
  • Maintains excellent guest service and positive demeanor towards guests, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • Adapts to guest needs
  • Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
