We are currently seeking a diligent and motivated individual to join our team as a Public Area Cleaner. This role is critical in maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of all public spaces within the property, including parking areas and unrestricted back-of-house sectors. The position is hourly paid and requires a high school level education or equivalent, with a preference for at least six months of relevant experience. This role suits individuals who are proactive, responsible, and have a keen eye for cleanliness and detail.

The Public Area Cleaner is responsible for ensuring that every area under their care is maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and presentation. This includes daily cleaning routines in public spaces to create an inviting atmosphere for guests and assisting in the upkeep of service areas to support operational efficiency. Additionally, they are tasked with practicing, supporting, and promoting the company’s service standards consistently, which involves interacting with guests, addressing their needs, and providing assistance such as escorting guests to requested locations.

This position demands physical stamina and the ability to work both indoors and outdoors. The cleaner will be exposed to varying environmental factors such as noise, dust, and second-hand smoke, and must be comfortable handling cleaning products, chemicals, and solvents while adhering to safety protocols. Manual dexterity and physical capability are required to operate cleaning tools like vacuums and safely handle lifting tasks up to 70 pounds. The role also requires attention to detail in bio-hazard cleaning and disposal to ensure health and safety standards are consistently met.

Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • at least 6 months of related experience preferred
  • ability to read and speak English
  • requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols
  • ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds
  • manual dexterity to operate job related equipment including, but not limited to, a vacuum, cleaning supplies and safety equipment
  • ability to work in areas which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy and may contain second hand smoke
  • physical capability to perform standing, walking, lifting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling and grasping tasks

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members and management in both written and verbal form
  • ability to work indoors and outdoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, noise, dust and second-hand smoke
  • ability to work with cleaning products, chemicals and solvents using safety equipment provided by the company
  • must be able to perform assigned duties both indoors and outdoors
  • must have an understanding of cleaning and disposing of bio-hazards
