Job Description
The Brandywine Radnor Hotel is a distinguished full-service hotel located in the heart of Philadelphia's Main Line, recognized for its exceptional award-winning service and warm, inviting atmosphere. The hotel is home to 121 well-appointed guest rooms, including seven luxurious suites, and features extensive on-site amenities such as fine dining and versatile event spaces designed to accommodate weddings, business meetings, and private gatherings. With its professional and polished environment, the hotel primarily attracts business travelers, social groups, and local community events, fostering an atmosphere where high-quality service is paramount and where every team member plays a vital role in enhancing the guest experience.
The Cook Prep role at the Brandywine Radnor Hotel offers a unique opportunity to become a key contributor in a fast-paced, dynamic culinary environment. As a Cook Prep, you will be the essential behind-the-scenes culinary force, responsible for preparing a wide variety of food items that delight guests across multiple dining venues within the hotel, including the Café, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria, and Banquets. This pivotal position requires culinary craftsmanship with a keen attention to detail, ensuring every dish is prepared with precision, quality, and an appealing presentation that meets established standards.
Your duties will encompass a broad spectrum of kitchen operations, from prepping cold foods and shellfish to skillfully slicing meats, as well as brewing specialty coffees and teas, helping to maintain high standards of food quality and service throughout the property. In this role, efficiency and teamwork are crucial, as you will need to prepare stations for busy service periods adeptly, manage your work area impeccably, and adhere strictly to all safety and sanitation protocols to ensure a safe and clean kitchen environment. Collaboration with fellow kitchen staff is essential, as you navigate the fast-paced settings, communicate effectively, and maintain a positive and productive kitchen atmosphere.
This position is well-suited for individuals who thrive under pressure, exhibit strong problem-solving skills, and have a passion for the culinary arts coupled with a dedicated work ethic. The Brandywine Radnor Hotel values staff members who take pride in their craftsmanship and contribute to the hotel's reputation for superior service. While experience in a hotel or related hospitality field is preferred, the critical requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Food Handlers Certification in accordance with state regulations.
Employees hired into full-time roles at the Brandywine Radnor Hotel are offered a competitive benefits package after an initial waiting period, which enhances job satisfaction and supports employee well-being. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, income protection through short-term and long-term disability insurance, life insurance options, paid time off, an employee assistance program, and a 401k retirement plan. The hotel also features a unique daily pay option, providing employees with financial flexibility.
This exciting opportunity to join the culinary team at the Brandywine Radnor Hotel not only offers a role in a respected establishment but also a chance to grow within a supportive, guest-centered hospitality environment. Candidates interested in applying should note that interviews take place onsite at 165 King of Prussia Rd, Radnor, PA 19087, where prospective employees are welcomed warmly, reflecting the hotel’s commitment to community and employee engagement.
