Job Description

The Brandywine Radnor Hotel is a distinguished full-service hotel located in the heart of Philadelphia's Main Line, renowned for its award-winning service and warm, welcoming atmosphere. This upscale property comprises 121 guest rooms, including seven luxurious suites, catering to a diverse clientele that includes business travelers, social groups, and local community events. With on-site dining options and extensive event spaces accommodating weddings, meetings, and private gatherings, the hotel creates an environment that balances elegance and comfort. The team at Brandywine Radnor Hotel is dedicated to maintaining a polished, guest-centered experience, ensuring high-quality service across all departments. We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Cook to join our culinary team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for preparing and supervising food across all outlets of the hotel, including the restaurant, café, room service, employee cafeteria, and banquet facilities. As a culinary expert, your ability to maintain stringent food quality, portion control, and presentation standards is essential to delivering outstanding dining experiences. The Cook will lead kitchen staff, facilitating efficient operations while ensuring every dish served delights our guests. This role demands a creative flair with a passion for culinary arts, capable of thriving under pressure and excelling in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include managing kitchen workflows, resolving operational challenges proactively, communicating effectively with colleagues and guests, and upholding cleanliness along with food safety and sanitation regulations. The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, foresight, and excellent time management skills to keep services running smoothly and on schedule.

Applicants should have a minimum of one year of relevant experience in a hotel or similar culinary environment, or be a culinary graduate with equivalent professional exposure. A Food Handler’s Certification compliant with State requirements is mandatory. Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain composure under pressure are critical attributes for this position.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience or a culinary graduate with at least 1 year of experience in a hotel or related field
  • Food Handlers Certification required must comply with state requirements
  • Able to work effectively under pressure maintaining composure while quickly evaluating situations and determining the best course of action
  • A strong communicator who listens actively to understand concerns raised by coworkers and guests and effectively conveys ideas and solutions
