The Host/Hostess position at Beverly Wilshire offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a renowned team that values enthusiasm, professionalism, and exceptional guest service. As the first point of contact for guests dining in the hotel’s restaurant, the Host/Hostess plays a crucial role in creating memorable impressions and ensuring guest satisfaction. Reporting directly to the General Manager of the Restaurant, the individual in this role is responsible for welcoming guests with warmth and grace, managing reservations efficiently, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation within the dining environment.
This full-time role requires managing high-volume guest interactions skillfully and multitasking effectively to support a seamless dining experience. The Host/Hostess will handle tasks such as setting up the host stand, reviewing reservations, inspecting dining areas and menus for quality, and developing comprehensive knowledge of the menu offerings. In addition to coordinating seating arrangements and managing guest inquiries, the Host/Hostess addresses any guest concerns promptly and professionally, maintaining the luxury standards associated with Four Seasons.
Requiring a flexible schedule to accommodate shifts, including weekends and holidays, this position welcomes candidates with a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and the willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic hospitality environment. Job Requirements
- Work authorization for the location required
- Ability to work full-time
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must have a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Good interpersonal skills
- Must be able to handle high-volume environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role preferred
- Strong communication skills including speaking, reading, and writing English
- Good computer knowledge
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Set up the host/hostess stand and review reservation book
- Open the restaurant on time for each shift
- Inspect cleanliness and proper table setup in dining and private rooms
- Manage daily menus and ensure their quality and condition
- Develop a complete working knowledge of the menus and inform guests of unavailable items
- Know server stations, assignments, and workload capacities
- Maintain station charts and cover counts
- Ensure high standards of service and guest satisfaction
- Handle guests without reservations and those waiting for others
- Manage lost and found items
- Seat reservations promptly at tables suited to party size
- Hold chairs for guests when seating
- Check guest coats, packages, or luggage as needed
- Address guests by name and handle guest dissatisfaction promptly by informing management
