The Test Pilot Advisor role is a specialized position based at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, requiring a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with Special Access Program (SAP) eligibility. This position involves applying deep expertise in flight test principles to lead and manage the planning, execution, and analysis of flight tests for advanced aircraft systems. The selected candidate will develop and coordinate comprehensive test plans, oversee all flight testing phases from initial safety reviews to in-flight operations, and serve as a subject matter expert within the Mission Control Room environment. The Test Pilot Advisor acts as a key technical advisor, providing critical insights into aircraft systems, flight dynamics, and operational capabilities that directly support engineering and production teams in making informed decisions about design and operational performance.
This role also requires a rigorous approach to flight test data analysis to identify system deficiencies and recommend necessary modifications that uphold safety and technical standards. The advisor will be responsible for programmatic and technical coordination across multiple stakeholders, including engineering, program management, and external partners, ensuring alignment of test activities with project goals. Preparing detailed reports and briefings for senior leadership to communicate flight test results, findings, and recommendations is also a vital component of the position. The role offers opportunities for occasional travel, both within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside (OCONUS), up to once per month.
MTSI offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package to support this critical position, including 20 days of paid time off (PTO) accrual plus 10 holidays annually, zero deductible health insurance plans, flexible work schedules, professional development opportunities with up to $10,000 annual education and training reimbursement, a company-funded Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), a 6% 401(k) match with immediate vesting, semi-annual bonus opportunities, and career mentorship programs. As a company that values its employees’ contributions, MTSI fosters a collaborative, employee-focused culture where personal and professional growth is strongly encouraged. This is an unmatched opportunity for an experienced test pilot to contribute to national defense efforts while enjoying a workplace dedicated to innovation, support, and success.
