Job Description
Backyard Products is a well-established company that has been transforming America’s backyards into beloved "staycation destinations" since 1975. It is the parent company of Lawn Master Outdoor Living and Big Timber Structures, two renowned brands specializing in premium outdoor timber structures. Lawn Master Outdoor Living is celebrated for its custom high-end pergolas and pavilions, creating stunning outdoor living experiences with award-winning products featured prominently at The Home Depot stores nationwide. Big Timber Structures focuses on superior American-made timber carports, gazebos, pergolas, and pavilions, offering high-quality craftsman designs through a direct-to-consumer sales approach. Both companies exemplify a passion for craftsmanship, customer satisfaction, and enhancing outdoor living spaces for homeowners and business owners alike.
The available role is for a Territory Manager (TM) to join this dynamic and expanding team, particularly serving the Orlando, FL area. This is a full-time, remote position involving a true territory management responsibility, distinct from a basic sales job. The TM is entrusted with managing several high-ticket residential and commercial construction projects, overseeing each step from initial consultation and design to permitting and installation. Territory Managers receive a steady flow of warm leads generated by impressive product marketing and displays at big box retail outlets such as The Home Depot. They are supported by specialized teams in customer service, marketing, design, and production based out of the company headquarters in Waxahachie, TX.
The TM is expected to grow sales in their territory with ambitious targets between $750,000 and $1 million in installed unit sales annually. Responsibilities include managing incoming leads, conducting virtual and in-person consultations, traveling frequently within the assigned territory to meet clients and partners, processing project-related documents, payments, and coordinating multiple projects at various sales stages simultaneously. Additional duties involve auditing and maintaining retail displays, nurturing relationships with big box retailers through training and meetings, delivering exceptional customer service, and consistently meeting sales and service KPIs.
This role offers a competitive base salary ranging from $45,000 to $55,000 per year, complemented by a lucrative uncapped commission structure, typically generating total annual earnings of $70,000 to $90,000 or more. Additional incentives include performance bonuses and participation in periodic sales contests. The company provides an attractive benefits package featuring 401(k) plans with matching, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options, health savings accounts, paid time off, sick days, paid holidays (post-probation), company vehicles or mileage reimbursement, company cell phones and laptops, employee discounts, referral programs, and reliable expense reimbursement policies.
Successful candidates will have a professional demeanor, strong organizational and communication skills, and experience in sales, construction, project management, or related fields. They must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and be willing to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays. General computer proficiency, including email, Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and CRM software, is essential. The role reports directly to the National Sales Manager and Talent Development Manager, with no direct reports under the TM.
Overall, this position offers an excellent opportunity to join a respected outdoor living company with a remote work option, meaningful client interaction, and substantial financial rewards tied to performance. Candidates passionate about combining sales expertise with custom outdoor living design will find this a rewarding and challenging career path.
