Job Description
Backyard Products has been enriching American homes by transforming backyards into inviting staycation destinations since 1975. As a well-established parent company, Backyard Products oversees several leading brands in the outdoor living industry, including Lawn Master Outdoor Living and Big Timber Structures. Lawn Master Outdoor Living is renowned for its high-end, custom-designed pergolas and pavilions that add significant aesthetic and functional value to outdoor spaces. Having served as an award-winning partner of The Home Depot for over a decade, Lawn Master offers premium timber shade structures that combine durability with unmatched design innovation. Big Timber Structures complements this portfolio by providing American-made, superior-crafted timber carports, gazebos, pergolas, and pavilions directly to consumers, emphasizing quality and exceptional customer experiences nationwide.
We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for passionate and motivated individuals to join our dynamic team as Territory Managers. This full-time, remote position is specifically designed for those who thrive in both sales and project management roles. You will be representing three prestigious product lines—custom tiny homes (Studio Shed/Studio Home), accessory dwelling units (ADUs), and premium outdoor shade structures—in key markets, with this position focusing on the Greater Los Angeles area. This role is more than a typical sales job; it is a comprehensive territory management position that blends sales expertise, customer relationship building, project oversight, and strategic marketing.
As a Territory Manager, you will manage and grow a territory's sales volume toward ambitious targets between $750,000 and $1 million in installed unit sales annually. You will nurture leads generated through multiple channels, particularly leveraging the strong brand presence and displays maintained at numerous big box retail locations nationwide. Supported by dedicated teams in customer service, marketing, design, and production based in our headquarters in Waxahachie, Texas, you will be equipped with the resources needed to thrive.
Your responsibilities will include conducting virtual and in-person consultations to design and bid custom outdoor structures and ADUs, processing projects valued between $10,000 and $300,000, and maintaining robust partnerships with retailers through training and relationship management. The role requires excellent communication, organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholders, including subcontractors and design professionals. Additionally, travel within the territory, sometimes requiring overnight stays, is an integral aspect of this position.
Financially, this role offers a competitive base salary of $65,000 per year complemented by a lucrative commission structure of 3 percent on all sales, with no cap on earning potential. This is coupled with bonus opportunities and participation in periodic sales contests, making the total annual income between $100,000 and $120,000 or more a realistic expectation. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, a company vehicle or mileage reimbursement, technology allowances such as a company laptop and cell phone, paid time off after a probationary period, and more.
The ideal candidate will possess a clean driving record, a professional appearance, strong computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office and Salesforce or similar CRM platforms, and basic construction knowledge. Preferred qualifications include experience in outside sales, project or territory management, construction, landscaping, or real estate sectors, as well as higher education credentials such as an associate or bachelor’s degree. If you are highly motivated, organized, and ready to build a rewarding career in a flexible, supportive environment, we encourage you to apply and become a key contributor to the continued growth and success of Backyard Products and its esteemed brands.
