Job Description

Emery Jensen Distribution is a prominent subsidiary of the Ace Hardware Corporation, a leading name in the hardlines distribution industry. This subsidiary specializes in providing a comprehensive range of hardline products to various customer segments, including independent Pro Lumber, Paint, Hardware, and E-retailer businesses. Known for its commitment to quality and customer service, Emery Jensen Distribution plays a critical role in supporting the growth and success of local retailers across multiple regions, particularly in the Northeast. The company prides itself on offering broad assortments, competitive pricing, extensive knowledge, and national reach combined with a regional focus that ensures personalized service and sustained profitable growth for its customers. Emery Jensen is deeply invested in its workforce, fostering a culture rooted in values such as Winning, Excellence, Love, Integrity, Gratitude, Humility, and Teamwork (W.E.L.I.G.H.T). These guiding principles contribute to an empowering workplace environment where employee development and community engagement are prioritized alongside business objectives.

The role of Territory Manager at Emery Jensen Distribution is pivotal for the continued expansion and strengthening of its market presence in the Northeast region. This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated, high-performing sales professional who has a proven track record in B2B sales and is passionate about driving business growth within the hardlines and professional lumber industries. The Territory Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategic plans to increase sales and profits by engaging with retailers and professional lumber customers through various sales channels including warehouse orders, conventional sales, drop-ship programs, and promotions. Critical to their success is the ability to build and maintain strong, productive relationships with customers and act as the primary point of contact between Emery Jensen Distribution and its clients.

In this role, the Territory Manager will frequently engage with customers, visiting core accounts at least once every 30 days and pursuing new business opportunities through regular prospect visits and calls. This involves using CRM software such as Salesforce to track leads, new business prospects, and store visits with meticulous attention to detail and prompt reporting. The job demands a strategic thinker who can analyze customer needs and market conditions to tailor innovative sales strategies and solutions that align with both customer goals and company objectives. Additionally, the Territory Manager will attend key industry trade shows and events to stay current with market trends and strengthen professional networks.

The position requires someone who possesses excellent communication and negotiation skills, a strong ability to manage multiple projects, and the capability to travel extensively across the territory. Travel includes road trips and occasional overnight stays given the geographical scope of the region. A valid driver’s license is essential, along with physical capabilities such as the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and perform duties requiring standing, walking, climbing, and manual dexterity.

Emery Jensen offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 per year for this position, alongside a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement savings plans, paid time off, and other valuable perks. These benefits underscore the company’s commitment to supporting the wellbeing and professional growth of its employees. Candidates with hardware sales experience, pro lumber expertise, and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent will find this role fits well within their career ambitions. Joining Emery Jensen Distribution means becoming part of a company that not only aims for market leadership but also emphasizes meaningful work, community involvement, and a supportive team culture that fosters individual and collective success.
