This position includes a comprehensive 5-week paid training program designed to equip chefs with not only culinary skills but also guest service techniques and food presentation standards. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to successfully complete Benihana chef training program
- Previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Must adhere to company food safety and service standards
- Flexible availability including weekends and holidays

Job Duties
- Greet and welcome guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
- Perform cooking shows for assigned tables ensuring appropriate and courteous interaction with guests
- Provide guests with information about foods as they are being cooked or upon inquiry
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests
- Ask guests for cooking preferences and follow guest instructions
- Prepare variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using kitchen equipment
- Perform shift opening and closing duties such as cleaning refrigeration units, chef carts, and floors
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, cooking areas, and equipment
- Report kitchen equipment or maintenance issues to manager on duty
- Comply with food portioning, cooking methods, quality standards, recipes, and service procedures
- Prepare foods according to portion standards including battering, breading, seasoning, or marinating
- Follow food presentation and garnish guidelines
- Handle, store, label, and rotate foods properly in compliance with health and safety laws
- Use knives and tools to portion, cut, slice, and prepare food
- Adhere to guidelines on alcoholic beverage service
- Present clean and neat appearance
- Notify manager immediately if guests are not satisfied or if accidents occur
- Participate in ensuring guest special occasion celebrations are memorable
- May photograph or be photographed with guests upon request
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
